Kim Kahn Co-Owner of Chapter One Hair Studio
I started in this industry at the age of seventeen, my senior year of high school. Since I was a child I was always intrigued and excited about the beauty business. 
I have studied at some of the top advanced schools including: Pivot Point International – Chicago, Illinois and Wayne Grund Academy–Astashiwa, Canada. 
I have also studied with top educators and stylists including Bes Regal Italian hair color, Redken, Rusk, Wella and Matrix, just to name a few.

A Brazilian Keratin Smoothing treatment is another area that I have been certified in. The process smooths and relaxes textured or frizzy hair. In Florida with the humidity and heat the Keratin process will tame your hair. We only use Formaldehyde free products in our salon.

My love for the business and creativity has shaped who I am. My salon is not a place to work, but a home away from home. The salon is professional AND always friendly. I take pride in understanding facial shapes, features, eye color and skin tone to create the very best style and color for each of my clients. I’m passionate about all phases of hair. However, color and cutting have always been my expertise. I can now also add smoothing and straightening treatments as well.

You will find professional stylists in our salon with a variety of languages spoken including English, Italian and Russian. Men, Women and children are always welcome in our salon. We have been at our current location in Paradise Plaza for the past 12 ½ years. My business partner Franco Busillo and I have work side-by-side for the past 30 years.

Besides living and working here in Sarasota, I enjoy boating, golfing, dancing and exercise. Sertoma Service Club of Sarasota and Greater Sarasota Woman’s Golf Association (GSWGA) are a couple of clubs that I have been involved with. Hope Kids is another great organization I have volunteered with, I believe you should always give back to the community that gives you so much!

Franco Busillo Co-owner of Chapter One Hair Studios

As a young man he started his career in Italy as an apprentice in the hair industry at age sixteen.  Franco moved to Chicago several years later to open two salons in the city. 

Franco relocated to Sarasota in 1979 opening Chapter One Hair Studio originally located downtown on Main Street. 

For many years Franco was very involved with the Miss Teenage America Pageants. He loves all phases of the hair business. His specialty is color and cutting. He still loves the fashion world!Contact Franco for a free consultation at (941) 955-5808.
Irina Belaya

Irina started her career in Russia where she worked for three years. Relocating to Sarasota in 1995 and joining Chapter One Hair Studio in 2005.

Irina loves all phases of the hair business, but her specialty is color and cutting. 

Irina is very determined to be the very best, always attending classes to learn the latest styles and trends. Irina can be contacted at (941) 685-4537.
Carmela Ingrati

Carmela started her career in 1976 in New York. She moved to Sarasota and has opened and operated two salons.  

Carmela does all phases of hair but her specialty is color and cutting. She has been very active in education, attending many classes over the years.
